Native legends

There are many legends in the different Native nations, and as they are transmitted orally from mothers to children, there are as many versions as villages.

You will find here some versions of some legends among the most famous ones.

The Inuit, the Iroquois and the Haida have some very different legends, especially about the creation of the Earth, but they all show a deep respect for the Nature and the animals.
