First Nations Legends

Canadian First Nations legends, like those from the Iroquois (Haudenosaunee), are rich in spiritual and moral teachings. Key stories include Sky Woman, whose fall created Earth, and the Three Sisters—corn, beans, and squash—symbolizing harmony and cooperation.

These myths reflect the Iroquois' close connection to the earth, their respect for harmony and balance, and the importance of community and leadership. Other First Nations across Canada have rich oral traditions and legends of their own, with unique stories about creation, animals, heroes, and the spirit world.
