Donny started carving when he was  12 years old, learning by watching his father. He is now one of the most experimental artists in Kimmirut.

​

He is one of the few who use a variety of materials besides stone.

Donny's work has been exhibited in Canada, the United States, Australia, and France, and resides in the collection of the Winnipeg Art Gallery, Winnipeg, Manitoba.
